Learning Ally
Learning Ally is an online resource to help students who
have disabilities related to print writing, especially students
who have dyslexia. The website has over 80,000 audio
books to help students with these disabilities keep up in
class and learn to read at a pace that works well for them.
I really like that they have so many books for students to
choose from and a wide variety of genres as well. It is also
not limited to students with disabilities and can be used by
anyone.

Word Lens
Word Lens is an augmented reality
translator app that will scan foreign
texts with the camera on your
device and translate them and
display the text in a language that
you select. This will be a great tool
to use with students who are still
learning English so they can feel
more comfortable with content and
can translate anything that they
need to in a way that is convenient
and accessible.

Mod Math
http://www.modmath.com/
Mod Math is a free app that provides instruction
for students with dyslexia and dysgraphia. It
provides support for students with mathematics.
Educators should incorporate Mod Math into their
classroom because it helps students write
mathematical notations with less difficulty,
allowing them to focus on solving the calculations.
This could be incorporated in the class during
math and students could take turns using an
electronic such as a Tablet to use the app. For
example, students could be assigned a tablet for a
week then another student could be assigned the
next week, if there are not enough electronics for
everyone to use. It is also to discuss the use of
Mod Math with the parents so students can have
the opportunity to use the app while at home as
well.
Newsela
Newsela is an online reading platform for teachers to assign
different articles to students based on current events going
on throughout the world. Each article can have different
levels that the article is written in based on the students
reading level. The teacher can have a classroom page like
canvas for students to be assigned articles to read and even
be assigned quizes or comprehension checks on the article.
This could be a great opportunity to differentiate instruction
for students where they are learning the same content but
it being scaffold to where their reading and comprehension
level is at for each specific student.

Starfall
Starfall is a website that helps students
to learn phonics through fun games and
even provides sing alongs where students
can use their fine-motor coordination
skills at the same time. The website is
free and has a low cost membership
option if that is appealing to any families.
Fun activities on this site range from

Boardmaker
Boardmaker is an assistive technology platform that
utilizes symbol based communication for home and
school. I really like Boardmaker because of the
emphasis their platform has on social emotional learning
and helping students with disabilities develop skills in
communicating their emotions. This application is also
accessible on multiple platforms also allowing teachers,
parents, therapists, and other members of a students
support to access the student’s account, assign tasks,

as well as monitor their progress.

I-ready IXL
I-ready is an innovative
website that matches the
students pace and adheres
to their abilities. Students will
first engage in assessment
and they will have their
academic standing
determined by the software.
The software will then give
students interactive lessons
https://www.curriculumassociates.co
m/products/i-ready/i-ready-learning that will be based on their
scores on the assessment. https://www.ixl.com/
The teacher has the ability to
raise and lower the difficulty
on the activities and students
are able to monitor their own
progress.
Arcademics
Arcademics is a resource for students
with special needs and learning
disabilities to help them learn math,
reading, spelling, and writing while still
being a fun game-like experience. The
website talks about how when students
get an answer incorrect they look at it
as a learning experience rather than a
failure which is extremely important for
students to build their confidence.
There are so many areas for students to
learn on this website and they make it
a very fun experience for students to
learn and improve their skills.

by meeting them where they are at in their
learning. They provide different rubrics for
these art activities for elementary, middle
and high school. In their sections that focus
on teaching art to students who are a part of
special education, they want teachers and
parents to focus on what the students can do https://www.incredibleart.org/
and encourage their learning in art to grow
