What is Digital Economy?

A digital economy is powered by the internet and digital technologies and allows
anyone to participate from anywhere. It refers to the devices most of us use each day
such as computer, tablets and smartphones. It includes the online maps we consult,
goods we purchase, the web searches that we do find information and our electronic
banking. In a Digital Economy, businesses and individuals are creating, innovating and
growing new business opportunities faster than ever before.

In this new economy, digital networking and communication infrastructure

provides a global platform in which people and organization interact, communicate,
collaborate and search for information in the internet. For instance, nowadays, many
people can have additional income through selling online or they can also sell their own
work because today most people are more active online than in physical world and of
course they find it more attainable.

What is Digital Economy?

Digital Economy is an economy that based on digital technology through the

use of internet in which covers all aspect such as economic, business, social etc. Due to
the advancement of technology the traditional and digital economies are unified. It is
more convenient and hassle free than traditional economy. One of the advantage of this
new economy is we can able to buy, promote and sell easily with these new digital
economy and with the use of internet. Many people can transact anytime and any
places which find them suitable.

What are the new activities or changes that have emerged due to new economy?
What then have changed compared ‘’old’’ economy?
Due to digital economy we experienced changes especially in the business world,
unlike before that we really need to go to our offices to work but now we can able to work at
home or other places which we find more convenient and accessible. It also changes the
way we shop in which we can have it anywhere and anytime. We can also pay our bills,
deposit, withdraw and other bank transaction online, we don’t need to queue outside the
bank. It also changes in the world of entertainment, before, we bought CDs for music and
movie DVDs enable for us to watch our favorite actor and singer to hear or watch their
songs but now we can watch or hear it everywhere and anytime in digitally form.

What do you think will this new economy demand from workers, industries, or
government? What will it require?
Due to this new economy, the workers should be skillful enough because it requires
complex processes and technologies that expert can only do and also workers must be
flexible and persevere in learning. The industries must have heavy investment because it
really requires strong infrastructure, connection and have a lot of digital devices. The
government also must provide employment because we are dependent now on the
technology there is some tendency that many people will lose their job,
