Hydrangea Box Notes

Lid: Make Shuzo Fujimoto’s Hydrangea, 3 levels or higher. The first two levels
will make the rim of the box and the rest will be at the top.

2. Pre-crease the redline. Fold the corner as shown.

Unit now becomes 3D and square now becomes right
triangle. Fold the triangle in half using red line. Now
1. Fold the red lines as tuck the resulting flap under the existing petal shaping
mountains firmly and unfold. flap. Repeat for all four corners to complete lid.

Base: Use same size paper as lid. I like a contrasting color because it shows
off the lid better. The shaded region will be the bottom of the box.

1. Pre-crease into thirds both ways. It is best

to not crease the parts shown dotted for a
neater finish but it is difficult to estimate.

2. Pre-crease the diagonals shown.

3. Blintz fold two opposite corners and finish

like a Masu Box using existing creases.

Note: There are overlaps in the box base that

is not necessarily bad. It makes the box
sturdy.
