After learning about “capital flight” and watching the video, investing is very closely related
to what is meant by capital flight. This is because investment is very easy to do in the
current era because there have been many trade relations between countries and economic
cooperation between countries.
Following this statement “Government should have more FDI (Foreign Direct Investment)
than FPI (Foreign Portfolio Investment)”. I strongly disagree with this statement because
there are many things that must be considered, such as: government FDI must be strictly
controlled through regulations made and must be obeyed by all foreign investors.
Why should regulations be made regarding foreign investors? because when many foreign
investors come and invest a lot, such as building factories and other infrastructure, don't
forget local entrepreneurs. Do not let our country's economy be held and regulated by
foreign investors, because if it is left like that, our country will gradually become dependent
on outsiders and will suffer economically and will damage the structure of our own country.
Meanwhile, Foreign Portfolio Investment will be very profitable and it would be better if the
government could maximize it. Because with FPI foreign investors have no control over our
economy, it will be much safer for our country.
