THE EFFECT OF COVID 19 ON ONLINE LEARNINGSMPN 04 GUNUNG TULEH

A. Background of study

The Covid-19 pandemic has caused governments in various parts of the world to
implement a number of new policies related to breaking the chain of transmission of the virus,
including the government of the Republic of Indonesia. As an effort to accelerate the handling
of Covid-19, the government through PP No. 21 of 2020 issued a large-scale social restriction
policy (social distancing) related to work activities, the business world, offices, education,
religion, economics or other social activities.

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced the learning system in schools to drastically change
from face-to-face (conventional) learning to online learning. Many schools do not yet have
online learning infrastructure, but are still forced to carry out non-line learning. Many parties
feel they are not ready for the implementation of online learning, both from teachers and
students.

SMP 4 is a school located in Gunung Tuleh District, Pasaman Regency which is far from
the city center, and SMP N 4 is still classified as a rural school. Characteristics of students and
parents who are still classified as technologically stuttering were also found there. In addition,
not all teachers there are technology and internet literate. With the Government's policy that
requires the implementation of online learning during this Covid-19 pandemic, it will certainly
have various impacts on both students and teachers.
Based on some of these backgrounds, the researchers are interested in conducting
research with the title "Case Study: The Effect of covid 19 on online learning at SMPN 04
GUNUNG TULEH KAB, PASAMAN BARAT

COVID-19 is an infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus.


These new viruses and diseases were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China,
in December 2019.

People can catch COVID-19 from other people who are infected with the virus. The
disease can be spread from person to person through tiny droplets from the nose or mouth that
are spread when a person with COVID-19 coughs or exhales. These droplets land on objects
and surfaces around the person. Person others then catch COVID-19 by touching these objects
or surfaces, then touching their eyes, nose or mouth. People can also catch COVID-19 if they
breathe in droplets from someone with COVID-19 who coughs or coughs up droplets. This is
why it is important to stay more than 1 meter (3 feet) of the sick person.

There are factors that influence learning. Referring to Slameto (2010) these factors
consist of internal factors and external factors. The following will describe these two factors.
1) Internal Factors. Internal factors are factors that exist within the individual who is learning.
These internal factors include physical factors, psychological factors, and fatigue factors, 2) In
addition to internal factors, other factors that influence learning are external factors. External
factors are factors that come from outside the students themselves. These external factors
include family factors, school factors, and community factors.

Basically, learning is an effort by educators to help students carry out learning activities
with the aim of realizing the efficiency and effectiveness of learning activities carried out by
students.
Online learning is clearly different from ordinary learning. Online learning prioritizes
students' ability to receive and process information. Riyana (2019) states that in general the
characteristics of online learning are:personal, structural, activee, dan connective

B. Identification of problems
1. Students find it difficult to follow lessons during covid 19
2. Students feel that online learning is less effective
3. Students feel unmotivated with online learning because of the lack of learning
media such as cellphones or inadequate networks.
C. Formulation of the problem
1. How is the learning process during covid 19?
2. Is online-based learning an effective learning?
3. What are the impacts that occur in online learning on teachers and students?
D. problem goal
1. To identify how the process of implementing learning during covid 19 at SMPN 04
GUNUNG TULEH
2. To identify the effectiveness of online-based learning
3. To find out the impact of online learning for students and teachers during covid 19

E. Objective of the study

The object of the study in this research is student and teacher in SMPN 04 GUNUNG
TULEH, because there is no online learning system. Inadequate online learning facilities such
as mobile phones, networks and other media.
