Guidelines for Assignment

Before going to assignment please read the following guidelines:

 Term “x” refers to the book that you have chosen for semester project
 Term “y” refers to the Author of that book.
 Each one of you has been given to write a report on different books related to course of
self-management.
 Only Microsoft word file is accepted with your Name, Enrollment # and Class Section.
 Deadline for this assignment is 31st May 2021 and no extension will be awarded in
whatsoever condition.
 Assignment will be uploaded on LMS and you must upload your solution file only on
LMS.
 Everything you will write in this document should be Specific to your book, generic data
and statements are not required.
 Marks/Score depends on the correctness and relativity of your assignment. Produce your
own work.

SEMESTER ASSIGNMENT
You have been assigned as Book Reviewer on book X by author Y (already mentioned in excel
sheet for every individual and shared with the CR). While you read the book analyze the
following and write your report that includes following points.
- The title of the book (does the book delivers what it suggests it’s going to deliver?)
- What is the book’s argument? Identify the thesis and write whether the author achieved
the purpose of the book.
- Does the book do what it says it is going to do? (in this point you need to summarize the
book and write what are the most important aspects of the book)
- What are the terms used in the book and how are they defined in the book?
- Give a detailed account of the book’s strengths
- Write in detail the weaknesses of the book or the points that need more elaboration.
- If there are illustrations in the book, were they helpful?
- Who can benefit from reading this book?
- How clear is the book structure and its logical flow?
- Give your own assessment of the book’s strength and weaknesses.
- You’re concluding thoughts on the book. (particularly about what did you learn from the
book and your overall opinion of the book)
Note: Including quotes from the book in your writing is always a good idea because it gives
examples for everything you are saying.
