Hi i'm Chester Calayag . I'm a Filipino Artist .

I'm lonely, sometimes too Happy, I

am never alone but somehow can't find a place where i belong...Interested in making
Art and making Love. Most of my paintings deals with everything and anything i see,
my own Story and my interpretations about my own life and how i see this World.
Doing a painting is another way to give life, music already did this, now its time
for art to give a hand. My Style are Inspired in some Renaissance Paintings Fantasy
Painting/Surreal Paintings and Many Modern arts. I'm interested in the works of
Salvador Dali, Remedios Varo, Guztav Klimt, Beksinski, Wayne Barlowe , Esao Andrews
Francis Bacon and some underrated artist like Stanley Donwood and some local artist
friends. Some are Masters from our Past World, others are Still Living and still
making history.Actually i don't care about styles, i care about learning the things
i know i need to learn, and i learned a lot from them, not just in Art but in Life
too. My Inspirations comes from anything like a powerful Love, wonderful Family,
Events in the Streets, Smile from the sun, Scene in a movie, Lines in a Poem,
Sadness, Failures, Trees soon to be Cutted, Kiss from a Mother Cat to its Kittens,
a plastic bag floating in the hi-Way, A raindrops falling from the sky into the
hair of a beautiful girl and then i realized that i've been staring at her for an
hour, A vegetarian Friend, a toast from a Friends or just smoking a Pot while
listening to my favorite songs. anything, anytime inspirations comes, Music really
inspires me a lot, it always giving me inspiration and energy to start the day, to
start working. anywhere i go. I like paintings with strong lightings and strong
darkness, the contrast of that two thing and that is what im working on my
painting. how Light exist in us, how hard to live in Darkness. Light is very
important for me, maybe to all of us. but its really hard to find. Most of my works
are in Oil on Canvas, but i also like using Acrylic Paints, pens, pencils. i'm
still Exploring those mediums and still trying to get better and better. I hope i'm
getting better : ) . Its my brother who taught me that Magic Exist, Cloaked as an
Art in this New World. He is my Teacher not just in painting but in Art itself. He
taught me how beautiful the world is even it was in its worst Spin. I got a lot of
friends too who i consider as my brother and teachers. Being a Visual artist, i
want people to feel something in my works, just looking at them, stare at them,
feel them. No explanations just Feelings. I want to share anything that goes inside
this head, i want them to know how i feel, how i am, who i am. a lot of things to
say, words are powerful but sometimes it doesn't matter, it's not enough, and
making art is the only way i know to make all this crazy things possible. I want
them to have their privilege to look at my Paintings, analyze them, understand them
as much as they can. And for me its a pleasure. I want to paint what i know is
true, Truth from myself, Truths i knew, Truth that everybody should know, Truths
that hard to Accept, Truths within Me, to see how i see, to understand how i Live.
I listen to other people's advices about my work but it doesn't mean i'm doing it.
Most of them are just ignored. As long as i know i'm doing the right way and it is
what exactly what i want to paint and i see nothing is wrong, then I'll do it,
paint it! Of Course! I'm selling My works if Someone wants it, because the sad
things here in our world today is that Leaders decided that we have to Pay for
Everything and Anything, when the whole world was given to ALL of us Free, this
Beautiful Paradise. By embracing Art, i found Love. and it is the greatest thing
that i've found along the way. Love is Everything, that's all we need. the Real
Love. i believe that nothing is impossible. There's always a possibility in
everything, we just have to find the way how to do it. There's always a way, a
right way. and i'm happy i found mine. it was like a portal into something inner in
ourselves. Here , you can see some of my works. and i hope it can give you
inspirations even just a little or anything positively or anything that can help
you on your way too. Just pick up the things that can help you, dont take
everything that you can see, only those that you really need and those that can
help you. and always be ready to give them up if time comes.Life is really hard for
