Flyer:

I designed this flyer with a lot of aspects in mind.

The first was color. I chose green to be the most

prominent because it is very significant in Islamic

culture. It means paradise, life, and nature. I also

chose to make red stand out because it also is

significant in Islamic culture and it means a life

force, passion, and love. I chose the background to

be a curtain because I thought it fit the broadway

play theme. For the visual, I combined two

pictures; one of the man hiding and painting and

one of the paintings in the frame. Together, they

signify Amir and how he hides from his history while simultaneously painting a new image for

himself. He also compartmentalizes his life between past and present. He wants everyone to view

him as a “normal” American lawyer with a perfect white wife and hide his past away. For these

reasons, I think that this poster accurately depicted the play’s themes and did so in an intriguing

way.
