HILL STREET FRIENDS

Hill Street Friends is a new serial on Channel 4 featuring some young stars like Derek Jones
and Gloria Stevens. The storyline follows a group of teenage friends, aged 16–19, who are
neighbours. It’s on Channel 4 each Monday and Friday at 6 pm.

Hill Street Friends Episode 1 starts as Mick, Stan and Jane are talking about a surprise
birthday party for their friend, Gina. She’ll be 18 next week and they want to prepare
something special. At the same time, Gina is having a bad argument with her parents. They
don’t really like her new boyfriend, Tommy, but they don’t say that. They say that they want
her to work harder at school and think more about her future plans. Gina, a top student with
serious plans to study medicine next year, gets really angry and leaves the room.
At the end of the episode, we meet another one of the Hill Street friends called Jake, just
before a job interview. He wants to earn money and find his own flat because he often has
arguments with his parents. Also, he’s in love with Jane and he would like to buy her a ring.
Will they get married in the future?
