Gauge
26 sts and 37 rnds = 4" [10 cm] in stockinette stitch, after blocking.
Abbreviations
k1-tbl: Knit 1 stitch through the back loop to twist stitch.
LPC-tbl: Slip 1 stitch onto cable needle (cn) and hold in front, p1, then k1-tbl from cn.
RPC-tbl: Slip 1 stitch onto cn and hold in back, k1-tbl, then p1 from cn.
LC-tbl: Slip 1 stitch onto cn and hold in front, k1, then k1-tbl from cn.
RC-tbl: Slip 1 stitch onto cn and hold in back, k1-tbl, then k1 from cn.
M1R: Insert LH needle from back to front under horizontal strand between stitch just worked and next stitch, knit lifted
strand through the front loop (1 stitch increased).
M1L: Insert LH needle from front to back under horizontal strand between stitch just worked and next stitch, knit lifted
strand through the back loop (1 stitch increased).
Stockinette stitch (St st): Knit every round.
Note
Divide stitches evenly onto double-pointed needles, making sure there are at least 18 stitches on the first needle for ease
in working the cable panel.
Mitts
Using the long-tail cast on, CO 50 sts.
Place marker (pm) for beginning of round (BOR) and join to work in the round, careful not to twist stitches.
Thumb
Return 17 sts held for thumb to needles. With RS facing, pick up and knit 1 st in each of the 3 sts cast on at thumb open-
ing—20 sts. Pm for BOR.
Next rnd: Knit.
Continue in St st for 3 more rnds.
Finishing
Weave in ends. Steam- or wet-block mitts to finished measurements.
