Week 1 Assessment: Pinoy Art Appreciation

Inabel Weaving

Inabel weaving is a traditional form of weaving in Ilocos region. I have chosen this kind of weaving
as it often represents the nature images such as plants, leaves, flower, etc. Personally, I really love seeing
nature or even just a glimpse of it in everything. It refreshes my mind, and breathing with an art of nature
feels like a breath of fresh air.

The part of our house that I would like to redesign is our living room, for it is kind of dull to see
just tables, couches, curtains, and walls in it. I would like to add some life in our living room in a way of
attaching some inabel designs in the wall as well as in the table being the tablecloth. I specified the living
room owing to the fact that we take a break in there, we sometimes spend most of our time in the living
room watching television, eating snacks or simply just lying on the couch. And spending time in a
breathable place brings so much comfort.

I would like to embellish an inabel weaving on the wall to make it more attractive, like a mural,
to lessen the oddness whenever I try to look at it. And to make the room more relaxing in the eye. On the
table as well, to add some flavor. I’d also like to put some twigs in the corner for aesthetic purposes, and
it can be pleasing in the eye as well. I have chosen to add twigs for it is related to inabel designs. Trees
and the like.
