new influential and wealthy Filipino middle class. People were encouraged to participate in
the trade. Migration and increase in population were encouraged.

Reflection: Based on your reading and class discussion, describe the 19th
century Philippines in your own understanding. In your conclusion, assess how
the events in the past shaped the present condition of the Philippines.

The Philippines before suffer from slavery. And the education control by friars.
And Spanish language is being used that time. That many Pilipino words came
from Spanish language.
But the philipines become more stable because of the trade before and theres a
lot of knowledge of our ancestor to how can our country recover. But right now
the Philippines have a huge debt how can we manage to pay all of that.
