ABSTRACT

This report is intended to discuss and find out more about anatomy, which is one of
the important lessons for visual arts children such as Visual Communication Design majors,
especially for those who are interested in animation and illustration.
INTRODUCTION

This report aims to discuss more complete about the anatomy lesson began to be of its
history to the techniques used to draw human and animated anatomy. Currently, there are still
many children of the visual communication design of the visual communication that still has
not really understood how to draw human an and abandoned correctness so that creates a
proposional image. The method I use is by researching from various articles on the Internet.
MAIN BODY OF REPORT

Anatomy (derived from the Greek anatomia, from anatemnein, meaning to cut) is the branch

of biology that deals with the structure and organization of living things.

Anatomical drawings were discovered by Leonardo da Vinci who was an Italian

painter, sculptor, architect, designer, scientist, writer and philosopher who was an inventor in

anatomical drawing.

Drawing the anatomy of the human body in art / design is drawing plastic anatomy,

which is about the surface phenomenon of the human body shape so it is different from the

anatomical drawing of the human body in Natural Sciences / Biology where the depiction of

anatomy is more for the organs of the body.

To be able to describe humans well we must know what is behind the human skin,

the main constituent elements, namely bones and muscles, when bones and muscles move the

shape of the body surface changes so that people who are stationary have different plastic

anatomy from people who are in motion. Drawing anatomy does not always have to be whole

body, it can be done by drawing every part of the body, such as the head from all directions,

the hands with various movements as well as the legs.

All parts of the human body have their own shape and character and each shape has

its own complexity in drawing it, therefore knowledge of plastic anatomy is required to make

it easier to draw the human form as a whole.

Body drawing techniques are divided into 2 categories, namely realist techniques

and free techniques. As discussed earlier, the realist style has certain limitations that refer to

the correct technique and according to the actual size of the human body. The freestyle is a

style that was developed from the realist style which was changed according to the wishes.

As long as the results still look reasonable and acceptable to the audience.
Drawing the body does look more difficult because we have to know the short

length of the body parts. We also have to estimate the distance between body parts to make it

look natural. But as long as we use auxiliary lines, we don't have to bother to draw many

times.

Some of the most basic body parts to draw include: head, shoulders, chest, stomach,

hips, hands, knees, and feet. These body members will later become a benchmark for your

character's body size. The unit measure in drawing the body is one head size.

The thing that must be observed from this angle is balance. So, before making all

the limbs except the head, make a long vertical line. Do not forget to pay attention to the

curves of the body.

The difference between male and female bodies lies in the shoulders and hips.

When men have shoulders that are bigger and wider than women. If the male hip is smaller,

the female hip is larger. So it can be concluded that the basic shape of the male body is an

inverted triangle, while the female is a normal triangle.

Understanding human proportions will be easier when using the mannequin sketch

method or human model. Transformation of a three-dimensional mannequin into two-

dimensional. The method used is to draw a three-dimensional human mannequin first, then

convert it into a two-dimensional model, the next step is to give a picture of clothes.

Mannequin drawings can be used as a basis for drawing human figures in a standing

or sitting position. Frontal standing and sitting position or standing and sitting position from

the side or looking three-quarters. From the image of the mannequin, then just add pictures of

the muscles, eye positions, hand positions, and legs. For example, learn to draw about

proportions and body position when standing and sitting.

In addition to using the methods mentioned, drawings of human and animal

anatomy can be done using references from the internet, as well as other sources.
CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

In conclusion, it can be concluded that drawing human and animal anatomy can be

done realistically or freely. In addition, in drawing anatomy, you must pay attention to the

balance between the proportions of the body parts to each other. Understanding body
proportions will be easier to do by using the mannequin sketch method, or by using

references from various sources such as from the internet.
