1. To take charge of this post and all government property in view.
This explain that all the property of the government that is within my
post will be under my concerns and watch. All property surrounding the
establishments will be under in my protection.
2. To walk my post in military manner, keeping always on the alert and
observing everything that takes place within sight or hearing.
In this part, I have to use all my senses. I have to walk around with a
keening eyes that is observing all that is happening in the surrounding
and with an ear that can hear all noises within my post. Always be on
alert no matter what the distraction is.
3. To respond all violations of orders I am instructed to enforce
To write a report of all the violations/violators that didn’t follow the
orders that I enforced to them, in case there is a misunderstanding
between me and the violators. I am intended to report all the violations
that take place within my post.
4. To repeat all calls from posts more distant from the guard house than
my own
To relay the message to the other posts that are far from the guard
house in order for them to know of what are the instructions or what is
happening to the other posts.
5. To quit my post only when properly relieved
Leaving my post only when another officer in charge will take over.
6. To receive, obey and pass on to the sentry who relives me all orders
from the commanding officer, field officer of the day, officer of the day
and officers and petty officers of the watch.
Acknowledge, follow and relay the messages or instructions given by the
higher officials to the officer that will take over in your post.
7. To talk to no one except in the line of duty
Do not talk to others unless they are one of your colleague or not
related to your obligations.
8. To give alarm in case of fire or disorder
To give heads up, notice or warning in case there is accidents or
disturbance in the establishments or within your post.
9. To call the petty officer of the watch in any case not covered by
instructions
Calling the superior officers when there is something that is not
under/among their instructions.
10. To salute all officers and all colors and standards not cased.
Give a salutation to the higher officials, especially the President, the
Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police.
11. To be especially watchful at night, and during the time for challenging,
to challenge all persons on or near my post, and to allow no one to pass
without proper authority.
Be attentive when you are a night shift, this is the critical time for the
officer in charge in the post. You are allowed to block unauthorized
person within your post.
