Installation of a MK100-USB

IF YOU ARE UPGRADING AN EXISTING INSTALLATION please ensure to back up your data folder (default
location is c:\program files (x86)\gl5\data for GLink 5, or c:\program files\gl4\data) to ensure no data is
lost during installation, then call technical support for assistance at 1 800 563 8867 ext 2.

To install an MK100-USB, first install the software per the installation instructions included on the
software CD. Once installation is complete, leave the CD in the CD drive.

Plug in the key interface. You will see an ‘Installing device driver software’ window in the lower right
corner of the screen.

It will come up with a window saying something like ‘STMicroelectronics Virtual COM Port (COM7), but
probably with a different number. Make a note of which number it shows beside COM in the brackets.

If this is not displayed, or if you miss it when it comes up, go to Control Panel->System.
Click Device Manager in the upper left.
Click the arrow beside Ports (COM and LPT) and you will see STMicroelectronics Virtual COM port
(COMx) where x is the com number. This is the com port the device will use.
When this is complete, open the GLink 5 software using the shortcut on your start menu.

Enter your password and click Ok, or if there is no password, just click ‘Ok’, and the greyed out buttons
will fill in.
At this point, click Settings and this screen will appear:

Change the Com Port setting to match what was shown when the device driver installed, ensure
Interface Type is set to USB, and click OK. The software is now configured for use with your USB key
interface.
