Introduction

Peterpan is a story book that tells the story of a boy who can fly and he comes from
Neverland, a magical island where children never grow up. This book raises a lot of
imagination. The story of Peterpan is not only recorded, but this story is also often filmed.

Summary

Peter is a boy who can fly and he comes from Neverland, a magical island where
children never grow up. The boy used to go to London, in Bloomsbury, to listen to Mrs Mary
Darling's bedtime stories by the open windows. Mrs Darling has three children: Wendy
(oldest daughter), John and Michael. One night, Peter is seen and while trying to escape
himself, he loses his shadow. As a result, he has returned to find and arrest him. In her
attempt, she awakens Wendy, who is not afraid of her, but helps her to reattach her shadow.
Wendy tells Peter that she can tell bedtime stories like her mother, so the boy invites her to
Neverland to mother the Lost Boys, a group of lost children in Kensington Gardens. Wendy
agrees and she goes to Neverland with Peter, John and Michael. They experience many
adventures after arriving at Neverland: saving their daughter Tiger Lily and engaging in a
battle with pirates led by the evil Captain Hook. However, after a while, Wendy, John and
Michael start missing their parents and decide to return to London. Unfortunately, Captain
Hook, who wants revenge on Peter Pan, captures the three children. When Peter finds out,
thanks to the fairy Tinker Bell, he heads to the ship to save the friends. He used a trick,
decided to copy the crocodile flea, which was ready-made and asked for an alarm clock.
Peter, thus, is able to sneak into the cabin to reveal the keys and free the Lost Boys, while the
pirates desperately search for the beating crocodile. Later, Peter reveals himself, that he has
the final battle against Hook, which, in the end, by Peter into the jaws of a waiting crocodile.

In the end, Wendy and her siblings decided to return home and take them along with
the Lost Boys, who were adopted by the Darlings. Peter Pan, refusing, refuses to refuse
because he is afraid of growing up, so he returns alone to Neverland. A year later, Peter
returns for Wendy, but he feels "betrayed" because the girl is all grown up and already has a
daughter named Jane. Peter is heartbroken until Jane agrees to come to Neverland as Father's
new mother. According to Barrie's last sentence, each of Wendy's descendants went to
Neverland with Peter when they were children.
Critique

The plot of this book can be seen from various points of view of the characters. Peter,
Molly, Slank, Black Stache all take turns, divided into specific chapters and titles. This book
makes fantasy and imagination expand, which has never been imagined before. Imagining big
ships, vast oceans, storms and thunderstorms, pirates, Mollusks have filled my fantasy space
while reading this book so that this book is also very interesting for children, teenagers and
adults.

However there were some words that bothered me while reading this book, they were
vocabulary that didn't quite fit. Maybe because the translation of this book will not be as
perfect as the original book. Or because I didn't read the original book, so I don't know the
original word, so there are some confusing sentences.

But it's good if the stories in this book are made more interesting so that readers are
more interested in this book. And some ambiguous sentences need to be corrected, so that
readers are not confused in interpreting the contents of the story in this book.

Conclusion

From the many criticisms, I can conclude that this storybook is very suitable to be
read by children. Moreover, this storybook is so imaginative that this book makes fantasy and
imagination develop, which has never been imagined before.
