CRITERION A: 3/6

Topic and questions are peresented and can be anwered in 4000 words. The candidate has given a
summary of the steps taken to conduct the research but excludes sources/methodology. This means
justification of sources/methodolody is absent.

CRITERION B: 4/6

The candidate has knowledge and understanding of Japanese tea ceremonies. However, the
candidate is limited on manifestations of Zen Buddhism. The candidate tends to dwell more on the
tea ceremony than how the Zen Buddhist religion experiences is manifext in the ceremonies.
Terminology and use of concepts is adequate.

CRITERION C: 6/12

The majority of the reseach is adequate. An evaluation of the revised information has been made,
but without demonstrating critical thinking.

CRITERION D: 3/4

The structure of the essay is appropriate. Layout considerations are presented and applied correcly.
Structure and layout support the reading, understanding and evaluation of the essay.

CRITERION E: 5/6

The reflections on decision-making and planning are evaluative and include reference to the
student’s capacity to consider actions and ideas is response to setbacks experienced in the research
process.
