Title: Masungi 360°: Virtual Field Trips for Young Filipino Conservationists
This virtual tour is all about our ecosystem. This virtual tour is an instrument for
us to be aware and take an action about our nature.

For most of us it is very difficult to look at the earth as our home. We do not
feel responsible to take care of anything that resides outside the walls of our
house. The modern world has created so much need for unlimited materialistic
possessions that we want to consume more and more every day. We only thrive
to possess what is in demand in the circles we move, but those possessions hardly
have any real value to us. Similarly, earth is only a place where we live and which
is the unconditional supplier of things we need and want to lead our life.
Masungi virtual tour is an eye opener for me, it made me realized that we
humans are the enemy of our ecosystem because of our ignorance and apathy.
We depend completely on nature for essential, life-sustaining services like clean
air and water, a stable climate, and food but the resources we use are all being
adversely impacted by our carelessness towards the environment. As stewards of
the earth, as the highest form of life on this planet, we must treat the land with
respect. And accept the responsibility we have been given to care for it. Saving
the environment is not just an issue anymore. It is a survival truth. Individuals,
organizations and governments need to come together and join hands to protect
what is left of our planet so that the future is not wiped out before it’s time for a
curtain call. There is a clear need for individuals to enhance their effort that could
help us reach a much needed solution, providing that the government pulls its
weight too. Ultimately, it is us who will benefit from a better environment, and it is
only fair that we should play a greater role in our struggle for it. I think about
environmental responsibility as a frame of mind. It’s about paying attention.
About not putting off for tomorrow what I can do today. And not waiting for
disaster to take action. It’s about being awake, purposeful, and proactive in
everything we do.
We always have to remember that we are not only consumers. We are also
stewards. We have to take care of the resources that were handed down to us,
so that in time we can hand it back to our offspring’s and then they to theirs. We
have to become aware of the little things that we can do to keep our
environment healthy, as like the earth we only have one natural world. There is no
way in which we can replace nature or live without it. We are a part of the nature
itself and we have to protect it. It is only fair as nature takes care of us by giving
us the air to breathe, the food to survive, and so many resources to make life easy.
We do not want the time to come when our natural world would feel, it does not

need to take care of us and leave us to our own means, which we do not have.
A shift in mentality is necessary. If we begin to see protecting the environment as
our personal obligation, then we will become more active in doing so.

Title: E-Qurious: Artsyhandsy (Painting)
Art is genuinely a gift to the world. It's what we crave in the human
experience. Art gives meaning to our lives and helps us understand our world. It is
an essential part of our culture because it allows us to have a deeper
understanding of our emotions; it increases our self-awareness, and also allows us
to be open to new ideas and experiences. Art therefore continues to open our
minds and our hearts and shows us what could be possible in our world.
During the workshop in painting, I definitely learned many things like
through painting we can foster our creative growth with the right ingredient,
which is practice and focus, with this we can learn creative skills at our own pace.
Keeping our minds and body sharp is important throughout our entire lives, but it
becomes even more important as we age. While staying physically fit is important
for our health, finding a creative outlet keeps our mind strong while also
expanding our horizons. Painting provides a fun, new hobby that sharpens our
minds. Stress is a problem everyone deals with to some degree during all stages
of life especially being a student. High levels of stress and anxiety contribute to
mental health issues. Painting and other artistic pursuits offer an emotional release
or outlet for people that struggle with stress or are having a stressful moment in
their lives. Releasing anxiety in the form of painting helps us unwind and let go of
all the pressures that comes to the mind.
Emotions are part of our creative world that we all carry inside, making
those emotions flow through painting helps create harmony between the heart
and the mind, which leads us to experience happiness, love, empathy and
peace. Art makes us more human; it helps us to communicate in a different,
personal language. This is a great benefit for all people and mainly for those who
have conditions with a lack of communication or problems expressing themselves
such as shyness. Learning how to paint has all the benefits of good entertainment:
we laugh, socialize, learn something new, feel motivated to finish what we start,
appreciate nature and feel passion for something good. Painting seems almost
magical in the sense that a canvas can be completely blank on hour, but be filled
with color the next. I highly encourage everyone to take some time out of your
day to paint. Trust me, you won't regret it

Title: E-Qurious: Artsyhandsy (Candle-making)
Today candle making is a fun hobby or craft. For some, it is a very profitable
business. Candle making provides us the ability to create wonderful designs. There
is no limit to the shapes, sizes, and colors we can make our candles in. A candle
is a device to provide light or fragrance. Candles have become very popular for
the wonderful aromas more than for their ability to produce light.
Making candles can be an extremely rewarding and fulfilling activity.
Candle-making can be fun and interesting and once you learn the procedure.
Not only can you save money, but you can also make money by making your
own candles. Setting up a home-based candle business can help you to
supplement your income while doing what you love. In fact, you can start an
online store that operates out of your own home without needing any extra space
or room. Scented candles, personalized candles and uniquely shaped candles
are just some of the examples that can draw the crowds in. Candles are needed
all through the year, so there would be a constant demand for handcrafted
candles. Hobbies are a great way to de-stress and calm the mind. Craft projects
like candle making can be therapeutic and can help you to wash away your
tension and stress easily and naturally. Spending time with wax, wick, colors and
perfumes or essential oils while creating something that you love and enjoy is a
surefire stress-reliever.
Candle making can be fun, therapeutic, and economical. Whether you
make candles to give as gifts, to sell or simply to create something lovely, the
advantages of making your own candles are reason enough to engage in this
creative hobby.

Title: Ocean of Trash and the Coast of Bataan
This webinar is about the current condition of the bodies of water in the
Philippines specifically in Bataan and the result if we do not do our responsibilities
as human to take care our ocean.
No matter who you are, what you do or where you live, your actions have
a direct impact on the environment around you. Unfortunately, the true effects
of our actions are not always visible
Over the past few years, the world has woken up to horrifying headlines
about sea life that has unfortunately died due to consuming or being trapped by
the waste we throw in the oceans. Joining the webinar about coastal clean-up is
really a shocker because the condition of the bodies of water is really bad
because of us. While listening to the speakers, I felt bad for the animals living in
the ocean. Ocean is home to various creatures. Marine life, dwelling only in the
water, are affected by waste on ocean. Our trash can cause injury even if it is not
ingested. Creatures have been reported having straws stuck in their noses, or
head stuck in plastic bottle rings. Cleaning the coastal also help the local
economy, seaside communities around the world get a huge boost to their
economies from fishing. If the water is clear of litter, fishermen are more likely to
be able to make a solid living for themselves. We are protectors of the
environment and the life it sustains. Keeping our earth as well as the oceans clean
is a great way to teach each one of us about the importance of having a clean
earth free from trash. The easiest way to do this is to simply pick it up.
Plastics are extremely hazardous to marine life, killing more than a million
animals in our ocean. International Coastal Cleanup Day encourages people to
get out to the planet’s oceans and help to limit this problem by cleaning up the
garbage that has either washed up on shore or that has been left by visitors each
day. Even the smallest of efforts, done together all over the world, help move the
future towards a trash-free ocean. Coastal Cleanup Day is the perfect chance to
really make a difference, and help others to do the same.
