Descriptive abstract: This data consist of the statewise distribution of the total sample collected
for Covid-19 test and their result (Positive/Negative) with respect to time.

Insights from the Analysis


Fatality Ratio :

 Highest average was for Punjab at 3.18%, followed by Gujarat at 2.86% and then Maharashtra at
2.79%
 Lowest mean rates were for Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu at 0.06%, followed by
Mizoram at 0.14% and then Arunachal Pradesh at 0.27%

 The National Fatality Ratio stood highest on March 24th, 2021 at 3.85%

 As expected, Maharashtra had the highest cases, recovery and deaths.


 "Kerala model" : Maharashtra was followed by Kerala in second place for highest Cases and
Recovery, but Karnataka stood second in the death race.

 Among the states, Uttar Pradesh leads in testing having administered 53.9M tests
 Among those vaccinated, 53.7% identified as male, 46.3% as female and 0.02% as transgender

 87.6% of the doses administered in the observable timeframe were of type Covishield,
12.4%Covaxin and only 0.036% Sputnik-V.

 Shortages of Sputnik-V vaccine for second dose is also indicated in the data

Way Ahead
 The timeseries data that we had for the Indian vaccination drive was over a short period of time
and thus limited in nature.

 With increasing strength in the vaccination drive off late, there is huge scope for further
meaningful data with evolution of these data sets.
