Materials
Scraps of yarn in up to three different colors and a hook
size suitable for your choice of yarn. I used a cotton
fingering weight yarn (Scheepjes Catona) and a 2,5
mm hook. Feel free to experiment with different yarns
and hook sizes.

Abbreviations = Standard US crochet terms:


ch = chain
st = stitch
slst = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
FL = front loop
BL = back loop
Rnd = round

Instructions

To begin: Ch 5, join with slst in first ch to make a ring (or work a magic ring).

Rnd 1: Ch 2 (= first hdc), 14 hdc in ring. Slst in 2nd ch made. Fasten off. [= 15hdc]

Rnd 2: Join new yarn in the FL of any hdc. Ch 1. *slst in next st, ch 1*. Repeat *-*
13 more times. Join in first FL of the round. [15slst and 15ch]

Rnd 3: Join new yarn in the BL of any hdc from Rnd 1. *Ch 9. Turn and work sc in
the 2nd ch from hook. Hdc in the next two ch, dc in the next two ch, hdc in the next
two ch, slst in the last ch. Slst in BL of next hdc*. Repeat *-* all the way around until
you have 15 petals. Fasten off and weave in ends.
