Which of the five stages of the family life cycle constitutes the most lucrative segment for each of the
following products and services: (a) TV cable subscriptions, (b) Club Med vacation, (c) Domino’s Pizza,
(d) iPods, (e) mutual funds, and (f) the fastest Internet access available in one’s location? Explain your
answers

TV cable subscriptions: There are several markets for TV cable subscription that could be profitable, each
for different reasons. Couples with children may want to subscribe because a TV cable subscription is a
cheaper option to going to the cinema for family fun. Single-person families and couples without children
are more likely to work full-time, have a significant amount of paid income, and view a TV cable
subscription as a convenient source of entertainment.

Club Med vacation: It is most likely to appeal to a family member or couple, as the holidays allow
multiple chances for connection while remaining stress-free.

Domino’s Pizza: The families with the children are more likely to be into Food, particularly fast food like
pizza, is one of the most expensive items. As a result, this period of the family lifecycle is the most
profitable for Domino's pizza.

mutual funds: Mutual funds are essential for accumulating money. At various periods of the family
lifecycle, wealth generation is a major concern. It is most likely to be relevant for people who are
approaching the empty nest phase, i.e., older couples or singles who are nearing the end of their
working lives and no longer have primary childcare responsibilities.

iPods: Young people are the most likely to adopt iPods. Single young adults are anticipated to be the
primary market, with families with children serving as a secondary market.

The fastest Internet access available in one’s location: it will fall into the bachelor stage as it’s the peek
time for them to have fast access to the internet without any disturbance to perform their task.
