To Study the Characteristics of Separately Excited DC

Generator.

Objective:

The objective of this lab is the load characteristics of separately-excite dc generator.

Circuit Diagram:

Procedure:

 Make the circuit according to diagram.

 Make sure motor and the Dc voltage switch is OFF.
 Then connect the Dc supply and turn ON.
 The run the motor and vary the speed and adjust the speed of the generator.
 Excite the generator field with full resistance Rfg from the 220 V dc source.
 Use the voltmeter note reading.
 Increase the generator field current If by reducing the field resistance.
 Note the value of the Vf, If and Vt.
 Disconnect the circuit from the supply.
 Draw the three characteristics of separately excited generator.
 Note the reading at 8 value.

Conclusion:
