Discovery 2: Obtain Platform Details with CLI


from Cisco Unified Communications Manager
This discovery topic guides you through the steps to verify system parameters
using the Cisco Unified Operating System Administration web interface.

The system parameters can be displayed in the Cisco Unified Operating System
Administration web interface. In this discovery, you will note the default
gateway IP address, MAC address, Cisco Unified Communications Manager
version, and NTP server in the tables in the following steps. You will also verify
that the Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express IP address is reachable
from Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
Complete these steps to obtain platform details from the CLI about the Cisco
Unified Communications environment:

Use PuTTY on your desktop and double click the CUCM-Pub-HQ shortcut.

Log in with username admin password Ci5co123!. At the admin: prompt, enter the


command show status.

Search for the hostname, product version, Cisco Unified Operating System version,
and uptime in the output and note them in the table.

At the admin: prompt, enter the command show network eth0.

Search for the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, speed, and duplex in the
output and note them in the table.

Enter the command utils network ping 10.1.1.1 and verify that there is connectivity
to the default gateway.

Enter the command utils network traceroute 10.9.3.2 and verify the path to get to
the Branch router.

Enter exit to end the SSH session.
