Branch pipe connections from the vacuum header tothe air Valves on the pressing machines should 6e no less than 2" in szo, 'SEE FIG. IV FOR CORRECT INSTALLATION. For best results, connect branch to header with a'Y fiting, See ilustration, page 8, Fig. V. Be sure there are no water pockets (ovr spots) in the vacuum header or branches, \When Rema Vacuums are located on the same floor asthe presses, and the ‘vacuum header is lower than tank ile, installa drain cock a the point where the piping rises, Drain daly. Whenever tis necessary to make sharp tums in the vacuum fine, instead of @ 90 degree elbow, try to use two 45 degree fitings or @ ong elbow. By changing the elec ttical wiring connections according tothe motor instructions, the dvection ‘of rotation ean bo reversed, Full oad spoed is 3450 RPM. Draining ‘A172 inch opening is provided in the condenser tank for draining. Use faucet or if conditions warrant, use & {heck valve which wil drain the tank automaticaly when vacuum is off Drain: Waste water must be disposed of per all local and state ragula~ tione.._Condenser tank should be drained atleast once daly and cleaned ‘of seciment about once a year. Exhaust Line ‘Must be same size or larger than, ‘machine outlet. Avoid sharp tums ‘and water pockets in the exhaust line Tank Erection - Rubber Sleeves Locate tank in a clean, cool, dry place. The three rubber mounts must Fest freely and evenly on the floor, oth enw a vibration will sult. Two rubber sleeves are provided to ‘connect intake and exhaust tines. READ ‘THEM CAREFULLY. Koop instructions handy for future reterence. MOTORS SHOULD BE CONNECTED BY AN EXPERIENCED ELECTRICIAN. An ‘approved starting switch with heater protection MUIST be used, Do not oper- ate the vacuum unit before piping connections have been completed. It's ‘characteris of the exhauster (turbine) to be uncer heaviest load when inlet {nd outlet are wide open. This is likely to overload and burn out the motor. However, iit Is necessary to test the machine, close ofthe inet by means of {cover or board placed over inlet opaning. MOTOR HEAT: Excessive motor temperature is caused by improper wiring and by overioading. Follow wiring {guide on motor nameplate wien connecting the motor. Keep dust and lint ‘Sut of motor - clean frequently. NOTE: When changing motor for voltage in single phase motors, BE ‘SURE TO CHECK ROTATION after making the change. NOTE: Single phase motors have thermal protection - either manual or ‘automatic reset 2s indicated. ‘GROUND INSTRUCTIONS: This product should be connected to a ‘rounded, metalie, permanent wiring system or an equipment grounding terminal Lubrication Grease motor bearings, top and bot tom, onee every 6-8 months. Uso high temperature grease, ie, REMA SPECIAL LUBRICANT. A tube of this grease is enclosed ith your Rema Vacuum, Remove grease plugs leading to the bearings and screw the tubs into the ‘greaseway. Squoeze a small amount cl groase into the raceway and replace {he plug, NEVER USE A PRESSURE GUN! Additonal tues of grease may be ordered from your distributor CAUTION: Too much grease will create oxcessive fiction, cause undue heat and will eventually destroy the bearing. Consult the motor instructions ‘which come with each Unit for further information Before Starting Check the faliowing 1. Check direction of shaft rotation with arrow on motor housing. Directon Should be COUNTERCLOCKWISE Ipoking down on the motor. ‘Make sure that condenser drain and riser check valves are closed. ‘Check pipe ines and ether connections for leaks. Examine pipe lines for water traps or pockets. ‘Chock rubber sleeves. Steam devuleanizes the rubber ator several yoars and permis sleeve on tank inlet to colapse. 6. Check ar valves. See that air valves open properly and that foot tread fs rot out of adjustment. 7. Examine pacing to see ithe pores are closed or if the padding is plug- ‘ging holes in the pressing buck. Replace padding if necessary. {8 Check piping for stoppage caused by an accumulation of int, especialy at elbows. ‘9. If water acoumulates on head easting under motor, check clrecton of ‘motor rotation, check for possible restictions in the outlet or exhaust line mons. | emesses | moron | inter ouner | overs | sup No” | Senves "Hp | swe™| Her | se HoT | Her") DAM | WGr APT 1 2 2 toga" | 2 |aaaa"| a1" 15" 90 ibs. nea 2 a | oz frove | x loca] ax | as | somes nea 3 ae | oz [ote | x fosvar| ae | ae | soem ae 3 aaj eve | we | oe | ae | os | io | 120mm ws | 5 + | eve freve | 2 |asve| ae | io | torte ns 2 | im | we | oe facvar| sex | io | tate mee | 3 ta | 2ve |aeau| soa" ae | 2408 mere | 16 3 we | 2v2 |aeaw| save" ae | 20s mezo | 2 3 we | eve |asamr| ssva"| ae | 255 te meas | as 5 | oe | ar [ave | ae [sev or | arome — 5 + | x | a |rre| ax | ox 155 be moe | 2 [rs | x | a |roze| ax | ox 120 be modo | 40 6 | & |rsau | ave | ae | so «20 bs nposo | 50 | # |ssae fave | a | oo sro ks ape2 * a toa | 2 x 105 bs wes | 20 | ae | eve live love | aw | wo 165 be wes | as + joe | owe | aye |sae| as 200 bs wes | se |i | x | i love laa] oe 213 be wee | sce | 3 | x | we love |aaw| se 2s8ios wecas | ise | 2 | x | ae | ave |acaur| oo 2es be, mez | reo | 5 | x | ww | eve |acau| se 2es he, weoeao| 2000 | 6 | « |rsae love | a | se seo peo | so40 | 10 | + [ream |2ve| a | oe 10s
