PROJECT SUMMARY INVOLVEMENT

A piping system that connect to compressor system. During
compressor start-up, a water/air hammering effect occurred in
flare piping system that causing an unpredicted pipe movement
and subsequently denting the pipe at three locations. There are
totally five dent has been found in the three locations.
• Perform Finite Element Analysis (linear and non
linear) to determine the Fitness for Services (level 3)
condition of damaged pipe
• MAWP calculation based on the damaged pipe
• Compile all analysis result in comprehensive report

The objective of the analysis is assure the mechanical integrity

and safe continuous operation of this piping system and review of
piping damage due to mechanical dents
