STATE OF MATTER :-

• Every substance in universe exist in different forms

called states.
• All the matter are exist in three different states.
• E.g.:- solid ,liquid ,gases
SOLID:-
• These are rigid with definite shape.
• They high potential energy then kinetic energy.
• The particles are in motion but they can’t pull each other
due to higher forces of attraction of neighboring atoms or
molecules.
• They have a definite shape and volume and can’t be
compressed.
LIQUIDS:-

• The liquid are less rigid then solid.

• They can able to flow.
• They allow the atoms or molecule to moves around
each other by remaining constant with each other.
• That’s why the liquid have volume in definite shape.
GAS:-

• The particles are very distant with each other bez of

their higher kinetic energy.
• Therefore the gases has no definite volume or shape.
CHANGE ITS STATE OF MATTER:-

• Most of the substance can be change from one state to

another either by heating or cooling.
• The change of state of matter may be physical or
chemical.
PHYSICAL CHANGE:-
• Physical change occurs when the substance changes state doesn't change its
chemical composition.
• Ex:- cutting of food into small peace can change the appearance of the
substance remain as usual.

CHAMICAL CHANGE:-
• A chemical change occurs when a substance will be change in a new substance.
This happens of heating chemical reaction.
• Ex:- hydrogen is a gas or oxygen is a gas for when they combine they form water
which is a liquid.
LATENT HEAT:-
• When a solid melts or a liquid boils some energy is required for change of state
without changing the temperature.
• The amount of energy needed for change of state can be expressed as latent
heat.(Ln)

Vapour pressure:-
• when a sample of liquid is introduced into a container the liquid will evaporate.
• The molecule will escape from the liquid state to gaseous state if the container
is closed the conversion coil be stopped the equilibrium will reach.
