Owlbear Warden

T
rained by Cendelius Elves as loyal companions
from birth, the Owlbear Warden lineage is
distinguished by a set of antlers grown by
males and a less bulky frame. The typical
owlbear screech and feathers covering a thick
shaggy coat remain, as well as their trademark
stubbornness. Thanks to centuries of training
and breeding practices, the Owlbear Warden maintains its
territorial instincts while understanding it is part of a large
community that must be protected.
Trained Mounts. An Owlbear Warden can be tamed for
use as a mount, but doing so presents a incredibly difficult
and deadly challenge for those not prepared. Raising one as
cub offers the best results. However, an Owlbear Warden who
does not agree with their rider's methods has cost the limb of
many a would-be-master.

Stubbornness. When an attack would score a critical

hit against an Owlbear Warden, the attack must be
rolled again against their AC with the same
modifiers as the previous critical hit. If the rerolled
attack hits, the critical hit is confirmed. If the
rerolled attack missed, the critical hit instead
becomes a normal hit.

Actions
Multiattack. The Owlbear Warden attacks twice,
once with its beak and once with its claws.
Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft.,
one target. Hit 8 (1d8+4) piercing damage.
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 10 ft.,
one target. Hit 11 (2d6+4) slashing damage.

Reactions
Shared Stubbornness. The Owlbear Warden grants
its Stubbornness feature to its rider if the critical
attack is from a melee attack.
