Ugborodo Community Shoreline Assessment

- Scope of Service

The scope of work includes the following tasks:

1. Conduct a site visit and meeting to review the project plan and technical
issues.
2. Compile and analyze long-term wind data to develop frequency
distributions of extreme winds.
3. Review and analyze wave observations in the Gulf of Guinea to estimate
the frequency and magnitude of waves (characterized by the significant
wave height and wave period).
4. Review extreme tides and storm surge levels and estimate appropriate
design water levels at the site.
5. Determine appropriate combinations of winter waves and high tide levels
to provide design conditions for shoreline protection measures.
6. Design shoreline protection measures in the areas indicated in the attached
“Location Map.”
7. Review the erosion processes and provided a conceptual riprap design of a
revetment to protect the shoreline.
8. Provide most recent updated topographic surveys of the shoreline.
9. Determine the proposed project extent – i.e. distance to be covered; road
setback from the edge of the backshore; road elevation, etc.
10. Assess the biomorphological characteristics of the beach and foreshore
with a view to determining commercial/recreational viability.
11. Erosion Protection: Determine the type of erosion protection measures
that are appropriate for the specified areas in the aforementioned
attachment.
