Students as leaders of knowledge and IQAC as path finder

Abdul Kalam, ex President of India justifiably said “we need leaders who can exercise a

vision to change tradition that will develop the country”. All, specifically ,students

together need to follow the same spirit.

The IQAC was constituted in 2004 for ensuring quality sustenance and enhancement,

during the post-accreditation period, as a continuous process. The prime task of the IQAC

is to develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the

execution of the institution. The IQAC will guide the efforts and measures towards

academic outstanding merit in all the operations of the institution. In this scenario we

can discuss about the topic of “students as leaders of knowledge and IQAC as path

finder”

The cultivation of social and moral values.

Our most important values are inspired with a mission to create successful, humane,

world-class Students. We hope to build up Student leaders who have the will and the

strength to make value education . First , student can learn moral values through his

lesson. The education system and India’s rich and varied cultural traditions should be

bridged through an enrichment of the curricula and making education a force full tool

for the cultivation of social and moral values. (The Hindu speaks on Education-218

page)This has to be done with participation of students in teaching.

Effective in the global community

Our students are mostly from rural, socially and educationally backward areas To equip

them to be competent in the global community is our aim. It is very easy to shrug

shoulders and blame education system for what happens. But , First teacher makes

himself as pathfinder. Then he creates his student as pathfinder. First teacher accepts

every useful change in internet world. Nowadays so many educational websites i.e.

SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS SITES ,MATHEMATICS SITES,ENGLISH LEARNING

SITES, FREE ONLINE TUTORIALS SITES will provide academic, and instructional

input . The best student will opt for it. In the modern era, Computers and technology

programmes have revolved education. Such technological programmes do provide new

expousure,new opportunities, new contacts ,new dimensions. These are all leadership

qualities. With the help of technology, the best student transforms his boundless

potential in to a quality assessment skill.

There is a famous saying” The mediocre teacher tells, the good teacher explains, the

superior teacher demonstrates and the great teacher inspires .”One light ignites

another light. As like when the student was inspired the great teacher the nation’s

integrity will be perfumed .Students Leadership quality besides environmental awareness

and acquaintance with the day to day development becomes a source of Other

student.”He did that good work, I too do it .He achieved it, I too achieve it” This type

of ethical commitment sowed in the minds of other students through the actions of

inspired student. with his songs,poems,and extempore speeches the best student bubbled

other student minds.

Exchange of ideas
General discussions in the classroom augment a good rapport between the student and the

teacher. If teachers fail to eradicate evil thoughts and foster the national oneness among

the students, the present will become an unenlightened history for the coming

generations. So, teacher certainly creates leadership qualities among his students.

Dr Amartyasen said” we have to reject all old policies which spring from a failure of

leadership which gives all to the vocal and none to the mute”(extract from the essay of

October 1996 ) Our Sanskrit poet kalidasa also told in the same

Pathfinder Leadership skills

· The ability to shift attention to discover possible new realities

· Manufacturing new realities using various

· Gathering and focusing the attention of others and gain their support and resources in

making it real

· Learning how to “rewire” and “self-program” – mind sculpting

· Ability to integrate more information quicker, integrate and move with speed to

Every department adopt those pathfinder skills as integral part of the curriculum

to raise the students as leaders of knowledge and IQAC as path finder.
