GSM-Based Air Conditioning Unit Controller. Bachelor of Science in Electrical
Engineering. Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University Mid-La Union Campus,

The GSM-Based Air Conditioning Unit Controller was designed and developed
mainly for energy management and monitoring purposes. The device aims control the
ACU through 3-way switch and text message and to monitor its status in different
locations. The device is very effective if ever you forgot to turn off the ACU. It may help
you lessen your usage of electricity.

Project Developmental and Evaluative Research Design were used in this study.
The device underwent different testing to determine the capability of the device in terms
of time delay of receiving the text message and operation, duration of the lithium-ion
batteries and the range of the signal.

The researchers used magnetic contactor, relay, Arduino UNO, SIM800L- GSM
Module. A lithium- ion batteries is used to supply power to the Arduino UNO and the
SIM800L.

The researchers found out that the GSM-Based Air-conditioning unit (ACU) is
highly reliable for controlling and monitoring an air-conditioning unit with a maximum
rating of two horsepower.
