How to start mining crypto in 2022 ( What type of

coins can you mine - Part 4)

One of the most important factors that we will be thinking about when starting mining is how
many coins we will be mining. This is because it is very important that we plan on having a well-
designed mining plan. Each coin has its own algorithm which will affect the hashrate that it
produces. For example, if an 8GB graphic card can mine at 30mhs, its hashrate will be different
on Ravencoin.

Another important thing to consider is that the coin's power consumption will vary depending on
the algorithm and network. For example, Ethereum and Bitcoin both consume a high amount of
power; therefore, when choosing a mining rig, it's important to consider how much energy it will
use and how it will affect the environment. Also, make sure that the rig has the necessary power
supply to operate efficiently.

Ethereum

Ethereum has been the most profitable cryptocurrency to mine with graphic cards for the past
four years. To check if your GPU is capable of mining it, check its memory ram. To check if your
GPU can handle Ethereum mining, just make sure that its total memory ram is over 5 GB.
In 2022, Ethereum mining might go away. Also, it will move to Proof of Stake which means that
it will no longer be minable. Basically, it means that in order to get more Eth, you will have to
own it and stake it. Since this move to POS is not yet definite, it might not happen in 2022 as it
was originally brought up in 2017.

Ravencoin

Due to a fork in 2018, Ravencoin lost its dag file and switched to the Kawpow algorithm.
Fortunately it still has a dag file that is only 2.85 GB and still allows miners to mine with low end
GPUs. This coin was first introduced in 2018 and is a modified version of the Ethash algorithm
used for EthereumUnfortunately, due to a fork, it had to switch to the Kawpow algorithm. But
fortunately, Its dag file is only 2.85GB and still allows for low end GPUs.

Ravencoin increases its DAG size every 6 months. If you are using Windows, then you will not
be able to mine it as it takes a few MB for its own processing power. However, if you use a
Linux Operating system, then you can still mine it. I would never buy old GPUs as their
profitability is already declining and they will most likely not be profitable in the future.
Ethereum Classic

Ethereum Classic is a fork of Ethereum that can still be profitable to mine with older models
since it has a DAG file of only 3GB. Due to its small size, it will not be possible to mine it with
multiple GPUs. Due to the size of the DAG file, it will not be possible to mine with 3 GB cards in
2022! I recommend that you not purchase old models and go for the new ones that have a lot
more memory ram.

Conclusion
Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, and Ravencoin have been the 3 most profitable algorithms to
mine in the last 4 years. GRIN,BEAM,FIRO and ERGO coins are less known but can be
profitable from time to time and are some of the lesser known alternatives to Bitcoin which you
can to mine in 2022.
