a) Audience: Dealer of Appliances.
Attitude: Tensed because unable to pay his outstanding dues.
Need to know: Legal action will start in 10 days.
b) Audience: Smartphone buyer.
Attitude: Curious.
Need to know: Comparing prices of different companies.
c) Audience: Upper management.
Attitude: Quite attentive, as this may be a big shift.
Need to know: What affect it will have on their jobs.
d) Audience: People who have chimneys at their homes..
Attitude: Open minded to be aware of anything odd.
Need to know: Reason behind the price reduction.
e) Audience: Potential buyer.
Attitude: Scared and curious.
Need to know: Whether he would be selected or not.

Exercise 4.25
a) Direct approach because it will be easier to personally appeal to the owner of the
car dealership, as the complaint will be properly handled and the owner will take
strict action against bad service as soon as possible.
b) As the instructor and student share a special connection, a direct approach would
be more fitting. Every year, teachers teach hundreds of students, so in the event of
an indirect approach, they will have trouble recalling the student.
c) The indirect approach should be used here because the direct approach can affect
the job applicant's feelings and can be viewed as rude.
d) In this situation, a direct approach should be used as the operating temperature
conditions are very important details for plant employees. Before operating in the
factory, the employees must be adequately and explicitly informed about
temperature conditions.
e) In this situation, an indirect approach may be more fitting as cancelling a client's
services will affect the feelings of a client and this can also lead to a battle
between the agency and the client.
