Answer the following questions in short:

a. How do we define management?

b. What are the four management functions?
c. What are the management roles?
d. What skills and competencies do managers need?
e. What factors are reshaping and redefining management?

Question # 2 (5 × 2 = 10 points)

a. Describe the six external environment components. Why is it important for managers to understand
these components?
b. Is organizational culture an asset to an organization? Explain. Can it ever be a liability? Explain.

Question 3: (5 × 2 = 10 points)

a. How does the concept of a global village affect organizations and managers?
b. Discuss how society’s expectations are influencing managers and organizations?
