Fashion show The Modest Heritage of Indonesia was held on 7th Desember at The
Museum in the Hague, the Netherlands. The show was a collaborative work between the
Indonesian Embassy to the Netherlands and Pelangi Wastra Indonesia organisation. It is
showcased attire made from wastra, Indonesian traditional Fabrics, to an audience of
200 people.
Each of the eight designers used a type of fabric inspired by a certain region.Designers
Deny rafael picked a Baduy fabric from Banten. Adellina Willy Suryani went with silk from
West Java’s Garut, Riski Permatasari with fabric from East Nusa tenggara’s Sumba and
Dwi Lestari Kartika with Batik from west Java’s Bekasi. Gita Orlin showcassed batik from
East Java’s Trenggalek, Lala Gozali picked Javanese lurik fabric and Mellisa A. Bermara’s
work was inspired by Kalimantan’s hornbill. Meanwhile, Putri Permana designed a bag
inspired by the town of Jepara’s Central Java.
Indonesian Ambassador to the Netherlands I Gusti agung Wesaka Puja said during the
event’s opening that the fashion show was aimed to promote indonesian Cultural
heritage through traditional fabrics. He also said that it reflected Indonesia’s developing
creative industry.
The fashion show began with a discussion titled “Wastra Indonesia,Timeles sources of
Inspiration”. The Netherlands Centre for Culture and Development’s Yetty Haning led
the discussion.

We have received a notice from the state Electricity Company, announced that many
electrical installations need improvement.
Due to the repair of electrical installations, the state Electricity Company will break
circuit. Conssequently, blackouts will occur around the area of our company today
