(e) When shells, heads, or other pressure parts are

(1) On the cross section through the welded joint the
line of fusion between the weld metal and the forged or
rolled plate being attached shall be projected on planes
both parallel to and perpendicular tothe surface ofthe
plate being atached in order to determine the dimensions

(2) For fange rings of bolted flanged connections,
the sum of « and b shall be aot less than thee times the
‘nominal wall thickness ofthe abutting pressure part.

rot less than two times the nominal wall thickness of the
butting pressure part. Examples of such components are
