Sales Application Engineer

Innovative Circuit Technology (ICT) is currently seeking an organized, self-motivated and


energetic individual to support the ICT sales team in an inside sales and application engineering
role. This person must possess a strong drive to succeed, be proactive in supporting customers
and following up on sales opportunities, have strong technical knowledge of electronics and
power conversion principles, and present a professional demeanor which will reflect positively
on ICT and our company image.

Job Description

Sales Application Engineer, reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, will be responsible
for supporting ICT sales personnel and customers. The Sales Application Engineer will be the
first point to contact for customers contacting ICT to enquire about ICT products and solutions.
The Sales Application Engineer will be responsible for selecting the best product(s) and
systems solutions for all customer requirements, and will be required to work with ICT sales
personnel and distributor account managers to follow up on open sales opportunities to ensure
these opportunities are converted to sales orders.

Responsibilities

 Responsible for all inbound sales and tier-one technical support enquiries
 Create new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow ups
 Identify and propose DC power solutions based on customers’ technical and application
requirements
 Follow up on trade show leads
 Support ICT business development managers and account managers by managing sales-
based interactions with customers and following up on new identified opportunities
 Provide technical support for ICT’s business development managers and account managers
 Provide technical support to ICT’s sales channel partners and outside distributor sales reps
 Remain current on industry trends, product applications, market activities and competitive
products
 Provide important market and customer feedback to ICT for product improvements and new
product development
 Create quotations and technical proposals for customers
 Maintain detailed records of all interactions with customers through Salesforce.com CRM
tool

Requirements

 A Bachelor of Science or technical diploma, preferably in the field of electrical engineering or


physics
 Inside sales experience is preferred
 Must possess a strong technical background and the ability to discuss complex technical
requirements with customers
 Ability to multitask and change priorities to consistently meet and exceed customer
expectations
 Excellent written and communication skills
 A strong drive to succeed is essential to this position
 Proficient knowledge of PC applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
Salesforce.com
