The Tibetan Book of Meditation - Meditation 5: Child Meditaton http://www.tibetanbookofmeditation.org/book-meditation-5-child.

html

Close your eyes, and focus on your breath for a few moments. Watch the air as it goes out and then back into your nostrils. Try to keep your mind fixed
there on that single point.
Now call to mind someone whom you normally see as higher than you. It could be someone like a boss at work , or someone like your older brother, who
does everything better than you. Picture them sitting just across from you, as we did before.
Get out of the normal role you have with them, and try to look at them objectively. They are struggling to find happiness just like everyone else. They too
are suffering. They too need help.
Now think of your normal role with this person as just a disguise—in reality you have been sent to help them, to save them from all pain. See yourself now as
the One who will do this.
Imagine this person as they would have been like when they were a small child. That child is still there in their heart, needing your love, needing protection.
Look inside their heart and see this child there. Reach out and take the child’s hand, and promise them that you will help them.
Now try this same meditation with someone who you feel has hurt you in the past, establishing this new identity with them. Practice it until there is no more
hesitation about helping them.
