Here’s how Flowrite works: The user provides a set of basic (bullet

pointed) instructions covering the key points of what they want to say
and the AI-powered tool does the rest — generating a full email text
that conveys the required info in a way that, well, flows.

Automation is thus doing the wordy leg work of filling in courteous

greetings/sign-offs and figuring out appropriate phrasing to convey
the sought for tone and impression.

Compared to email templates (an existing tech for email

productivity), Isosaari says the advantage is the AI-powered tool
adapts to context and “isn’t static”.

“Our tool can be trained to get better over time as it learns new things
about you and your needs,” says Isosaari.

The AI tool could also be a great help to people who find writing
difficult for specific reasons such as dyslexia or because English is
not their native language, he further suggests.

The AI-powered tool’s AI is also constantly learning, says Isosaari.

“The more you use it, the more it gets to know your preferences, your
needs, and the situations you work in. The tool can learn from your
behaviour, and improve your emails based on that,” he says.

Isosaari adds that Flowrite’s AI is “not just for emails” — it can be

used in a variety of text-based interactions, such as chatbots.

Isosaari says that Flowrite is now starting to attract other users besides
Isosaari’s business customers, including those in the education sector.

“We have customers who are using it in schools to help their students
with their writing, as well as in businesses to help their staff with their
emails. It’s a tool for everyone,” he says.

The Flowrite AI tool is available in the Flowrite mobile app or as a

browser add-on, and is free for the first two months.

Isosaari says that Flowrite has raised about $1.2 million in funding
from various private investors, as well as from public and government
institutions, including the Finnish Innovation Fund, Finnish
Development Centre and Finnish Funding Agency for Technology
and Innovation.

Other use cases

Isosaari says Flowrite is in the process of starting work with several

other potential customers, such as small businesses, but declined to
give details.

Isosaari says Flowrite also has another use case, not in the email
space.
