Hands-On: Give each student or pair of students a whiteboard or
a baggie with 1 circle counter, 1 triangle pattern block, 1 plastic

square and 1 rectangle domino. You will call out a command like,
“Show/draw me one circle. Show/draw me one triangle.”

follow-up questions: “What shape is this? How do you know it is
not a ____? How many sides does this shape have? Is this shape
curvy or straight?”

Hands-On: Give each student or pair of students a cut up sponge
and access to a small dab of paint. The students will dab their
sponge into the paint and place it onto a sheet of paper.
