Hands-On: Give each student or pair of students a whiteboard or


Write It cards for numbers 1-5. The students will practice writing
their numbers with correct number formation. The Write It
cards can be used for those that are struggling with the correct
writing formation.

5 Engage Thinking: As the students explore writing the numbers to 5,


have students also practice counting sets to 5. Present each
student or group with sets of objects in amounts of 1-5. Encourage
the students to count the sets with one-to-one counting.
