Teens don't lie, but they don't tell the whole truth

By Baker Bravo

Teenagers behave aggressively when they think someone is trying to tell them what to do,

and that is the basis of the lies towards strict parents.

Lying is a way for teens to hide their misdeeds, avoid punishment and responsibilities. The

lies allow them to use their freedom at whim and not be repressed by what their parents

forbid.

A controlling parenting style breaks the relationship between parents and children. If

parents don’t give trust and support, then lies will be common. Teenagers want to see the

world with individuality, go to parties and create lifelong experiences.

Teens must be allowed to make and learn from their mistakes. Teens should have the

freedom to decide what is good or bad for their life, it's about exercising their freedom with

the support of their parents.

Punishments, prohibitions or sermons have no effect on teens, they just get more rebellious,

defiant and have repressed feelings. The solution is to sit down and listen to them and

reflect together. Parents should be flexible and tolerant; this will help teenagers cope with

life.
