Valuable Experience from the Ambassador vs.

Stall Keeper

The second week in November 2021, our family attended the invitation of the Prophet
Muhammad SAW's Birthday at the house of an office colleague named Dr. Latifah Hanum MA and dr.
Abdullah Siddiq. We left the house after praying dhuhur so we could be free there.
Exactly at 3.30 we said goodbye. After returning from their house, our family agreed to go to a
protected forest, which is a recreation area in the form of a park in the middle of Langsa city. This place
is visited by many tourists both inside and outside the area. It is said to be a protected forest because
the place is overgrown with large shady trees and it is forbidden to cut down. The scenery is very
beautiful, because the location of the park is neatly arranged with beautiful and colorful flowers, wide
playgrounds for both children and adults, the existence of cultural sites such as Aceh traditional houses
that can add historical references for visitors and lakes. an artificial lake whose green water adds to the
beautiful view in front of the main entrance gate. In addition, the protected forest also has a collection
of several types of animals and fish. All of them are imported from various regions, such as elephants,
horses, turtles, crocodiles, iguanas, deer, birds, and others.
While we were enjoying eating and drinking at one of the stalls by the lake, suddenly two
mothers came who wanted to pay for the food and drinks they had finished eating. One of them asked
the shop owner, "Is there a prohibition on not littering here?" "there is an answer from the shop
owner". Then he explained again, that "they also provide trash cans and remind visitors not to litter".
Furthermore, the visitor's mother said that: "I am a garbage ambassador from the Province".
Then he continued his conversation. “This is a tourist spot, which must be kept clean to make it look
beautiful. By littering, especially plastic waste that is difficult to decompose, it can pollute the soil and
have an effect on surrounding water sources.” Furthermore, the garbage ambassador excused herself to
go home and said "I will bring and report field data as findings in the field".
In my confusion about the garbage ambassador, the shop owner commented, "Why are you angry with
me?". “How do people want to follow the rules for disposing of garbage, the trash ambassador doesn't
want to throw garbage. Look where they drink." The shop owner showed them the table where they
drank by the lake.
I feel ashamed to hear the chatter of the shop owner. In my heart I think that being a leader
must match words with actions. Even though what the trash ambassador said was true, it was not in
accordance with their actions and maybe they forgot to throw it away. With a little mistake then we will
reap the ridicule of many people. Let's equate our words with our actions.
This incident is a valuable lesson for us. Thanks to Allah the Creator who has taught a lesson
from “The ambassador and owner of today's shop. Moreover, in the month of birthday we
commemorate the birth of the world's lord of nature, the pioneer of cleanliness, namely our prophet
Muhammad SAW. Let's keep clean because cleanliness is part of faith. Amin ya Rabbal Alamin!
