Policy-Making Process of the Executive and the Legislative Branch

The executive branch of a government is created and empowered by a country's

constitution to oversee the enforcement and implementation of all the laws passed by the

government's legislative arm. The legislative branch, on the other hand, is formed to make laws.

For the last three years, decisions on policies were more focused on president Trumps'

opinions, relationships, and personality other than the right administrative process that other

presidencies strictly followed. The intelligence agencies, state departments, UN ambassadors,

and military leaders who were under the leadership of President Trump have exposed similar

frustrations with how the president does not give an ear to their opinions despite the fact that the

various departments were created for the management of the foreign policy.

However, there has been analytical objectivity by various activists fighting for the truth

without considering politics or policies. However, politicized groups of intelligence reinforce the

already existing beliefs, depriving other leaders a base for the development of sound and legit

policies. This has called for the training of intelligence analysts on how to present objective

analysis and are also taken through the reasons for the intelligence community to have

institutional safeguards like the inspector generals and ombudsmen to fight back the pressure that

can cause politicization and bias in intelligence analysis. Since the development of the US

intelligence community, every president has been in support of the motion until President

Trump's regime. He has continually been mounting pressure on the intelligence community to

provide analytic findings dependable on his decisions and views, neglecting the role of the

analytic experts. He has repeatedly sacked series of leaders of the intelligence for failure to meet

his political agenda and bowing to the political pressure, hence worsening the politicization of

the intelligence community.

It is also evident that some of the congress' members, from the legislative end, report that

the existing gaps between what the intelligence groups confess on matters like security during

elections and what the intelligence members let the congress know are closely pegged to the

views of the president. This is actually worrying because such leaders who are dictatorial can

cause a catastrophe in national security. The citizens would lack the liberty to express their views

towards the country's decisions and development at large.
