1. (a) Give three examples of target population and sample. [1.5]

(c) Calculate variance and mode for the data question 1(b). [1.5]

2. (a) From an experiment of drawing a coin and a dice together find [2]
(i) Sample space.
(ii) Pr(HHH).
(b) Draw the Ven diagram for events A that contains outcomes which have H and B that [2]
contains the dice number less than 2. Check whether A and B are independent.
(c) If in a city of UK 45% of the people are British and 30% of the people are Asian, 10% [4]
African and rest are European. There are 60% White people. Plot the percentage
with an appropriate graph. What is the probability that a person is White (W), given

that the person is British (B)? Find also P ( W ).

3. (a) Give five real-life examples of the continuous random variable. [2]
