Those whom when a calamity befalls them, they say; Indeed we belong to Allah, and Indeed to him we shall return. SALAWAT OF CURE (DUROOD E SHIFA) sees elsss Hdl ob sd Cage Le Je pul Uglies cll oes Yelezs all 35 Wgleds OLA 15 485 a) Se5 “Oh Allah send salutations and greetings upon our master Muhammad the curer of hearts and its remedy, the healer of bodies and its cure, the light of the eyes and its brightness, the food of the souls and its nourishment and upon his family and companions” Recite at least 7 times and blow on water and drink for ailing body, eyes, and migraines. Most effective when read after Fajr and Asr Salah daily. WHAT TO READ WHEN YOU SEE SOMEONE TROUBLED OR ILL All praise belongs to Allah, the one who has secured me from that which he has afflicted you with, and has greatly favoured me over many of His creation. It is mentioned in Sunan Tirmidhi that Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever sees an affliction then says this, he will not be struck with the same affliction.” ESCAPING CALAMITIES Suwaid ibn Gafalah reports: | heard Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) say the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “O Ali! Shall | teach you some words that you can recite at the time of calamity? | said: Of course! May Allah ransom my life for you! You have taught me every goodness that | know. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: When you are in any calamity then recite: eb call yy 1 385 GS V5 ged! AD al ty “In the name of Allah, the Most gracious, the Most merciful, and there is no strength nor power except from Allah, the Most high, the supreme.” By virtue of this, Allah will divert whichever calamity He wishes away from you.” PROTECTION FROM EVIL BEG bp SU al oth, Sf “| seek refuge through the perfect speech of Allah from the evil of His creation” It is mentioned in Sahih Muslim that Sayyidatuna Khawlah (may Allah be pleased with her) reports: ‘I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: “Whoever enters a place then says this, nothing will harm him until he departs from that place.” This should also be read and blown 7 times on oneself and children to protect from evil. PROTECT WITH THE POWER OF ALLAH’S NAME ples 35 oN G Seb att go Hes oll sa | deel hs “In the name of Allah, the one whom by the virtue of His name, nothing in the earth and heaven can cause harm” It is mentioned in Sahih Muslim that Sayyidatuna Khawlah (may Allah be pleased with her) reports: ‘I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: “Whoever enters a place then says this, nothing will harm him until he departs from that place.” This should also be read and blown 7 times on oneself and children to protect from evil. KEEP THE DEVIL AWAY z 25h gl AES Ys Sey db Y pal tg 5 ie 8% aM ola ak gt Peal esi It is mentioned in al Durr al Manthur that Sayyiduna Hassan (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “The best chapter in the Qur’an is Surah al Bagarah and the best verse in Surah al Baqarah is Ayat ul Kursi. For indeed the devil surely flees from the house in which Surah al Baqarah is recited.” DUA FOR SAD TIMES It is mentioned in Sahih Bukhari that Sayyiduna Abdullah Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would say the following during sadness/grief: “There is none worthy of except Allah, the supreme, the most forbearing. There is none worthy of except Allah, the Lord of the Great Throne. There is none worthy of except Allah, the Lord of the Heavens and the Lord of the Earth and the Lord of the Noble Throne.” DUA DURING GRIEF set Je. 2281 ae etl Sats tgs b Cb “O the Ever living! The Self Sustaining! | seek help through Your mercy” It is mentioned in Sunan Tirmidhi that Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) would say this when a matter would sadden him. AY dy ¥ a ls “O Allah! | have hope in Your mercy, so do not leave me to myself for a blink of an eye, and rectify all my matters for me, there is none worthy of worship except You” It is mentioned in Sunan Abu Dawud that Sayyiduna Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said that this is the supplication for a person struck with anxiety. NINETY-NINE ILLNESSES DL YY 58 YG Sg> Y “There is no strength nor power except by Allah” It is mentioned in Al Durr Al Manthur that Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “That this is a supplication for 99 illnesses, the least of which is anxiety.” DUA FOR PAIN It is mentioned in Sahih Muslim that Sayyiduna Uthman ibn al Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that he complained to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) regarding pain in his body which he had since he accepted Islam. So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) told him: “Place your hand over that part of your body which has pain and recite (3 times): r In the name of Allah and Say (7 times): gos ¢ ‘ od 24% Sik Ly Aagl e 3h Se als ay 32 | seek refuge in Allah and in His power from every evil | may find and observe.” AYAT AL KARIMAH FOR GOOD PURPOSES ayy ) ) “There is none worthy of worship except You, Glory be to You, indeed | am from the wrong-doers.” It is mentioned in Sunan Tirmidhi that Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Sayyiduna Dhunnun (i.e. Sayyiduna Yunus) said this when he was inside the belly of the whale. Therefore, any Muslim who makes supplication with these words for any purpose, Allah will surely accept his supplication.” VIRTUES OF ISTIGHFAR | seek Allah’s Forgiveness It is mentioned in Sunan Ibn Majah that Sayyiduna Abdullah Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Whoever makes Istighfaar necessary upon himself, Allah will grant him relief from every worry, and ease from every difficulty and will provide him with sustenance from places he cannot even imagine.” Imam Sha’rani (may Allah have mercy on him) said when his teacher Ali Al Khawwas (may Allah have mercy on him) would visit a person afflicted with calamity, he would say to him: “Increase in your Istighfaar in the night and day” And he would say: “there is nothing more swift in expelling calamity than abundance of Istighfaar. Allah almighty said: “And Allah will not punish a people whilst they are seeking forgiveness.” MAKING DUA FOR GOOD HEALTH It is mentioned in Sunan Tirmidhi from Sayyiduna Abdullah Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: The doors of mercy have been opened for whoever is given the ability to perform supplication in abundance, and there is nothing that is asked from Allah that is more beloved to Him, than one asking Him for good health. REWARD COMES WITH CALAMITY It is mentioned in Sunan Tirmidhi that Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “Indeed the scale of reward comes with the scale of calamity, and indeed Allah afflicts a nation with calamity when he loves them. So whoever is pleased, then for him is contentment, and whoever is displeased, then for him is discontent.” VIRTUE OF TRUSTING IN ALLAH ALMIGHTY Itis mentioned in Sunan Tirmidhi that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: ‘If any of you rely upon Allah the way He should be relied upon, then know you will surely be provided sustenance just like the bird who enters the morning with an empty stomach, and ends the day with a full stomach.’ VIRTUE OF GLORIFYING ALLAH In Hilyat ul Awliyah it is mentioned that Imam Shafi’i (may Allah have mercy on him) said: ‘| have not seen anything more beneficial for plagues than glorification [Tasbeeh]’ i.e: Saying all! Glew and other litanies. VIRTUE OF SURAH IKHLAAS, SURAH FALAQ AND SURAH NAAS Itis mentioned in Sunan al Tirmidhi that Sayyiduna Khubaib (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: “we sought the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on a rainy and extremely dark night so that he may pray for us.’ He said: ‘I found him, he said to me: ‘Say!’ | remained silent and didn’t say anything. Then he said again: ‘Say!’ then I didn’t say anything. So he said again: ‘Say!’ Then | replied: “What should | say?” He said: “Say: Sta a i and the 2 chapters of protection [i.e. Surah Falaq and Surah Naas] in the evening and in the morning 3 times, they will suffice you for everything”. FOR THE PIETY, LOVE AND SUCCESS OF YOUR CHILDREN AND SPOUSES O our Lord grant us in our wives and offspring the coolness of our eyes and make us the leaders of the righteous Read this at least once after every daily salah. Any medical need, including to donate blood, avoid or escape risk of injury or harm, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person Travelling for work purposes, but only where you cannot work from home DO * Wash your hands with soap and water often - do this for at least 20 seconds Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available Wash your hands as soon as you get home Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze DON’T * Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean THE APPLE METHOD The APPLE method of dealing with anxiety during the Covid-19 outbreak (Anxiety UK) ACKNOWLEDGE — Notice and acknowledge the uncertainty as it comes to mind. PAUSE - Don’t react as you normally do. Don’t react at all. Just pause and breath. PULL BACK - Tell yourseff this is just the worry talking, and this apparent need for certainty is not helpful and not necessary. It is only a thought or feeling. Don’t believe everything you think. Thoughts are not statements or facts. LET GO - Let go of the thought or feeling. It will pass. You don’t have to respond to them. You might imagine them floating away in a bubble or cloud. EXPLORE - Explore the present moment, because right now, in this moment, all is well. Notice your breathing and the sensations of your breathing. Notice the ground beneath you. Look around and notice what you see, what you hear, what you can touch, what you can smell.
