Module 7 Reflection

I have learned many things in this class and was not aware of the extent there is in project
management. I thoroughly enjoyed learning everything I did this term and cannot wait to
continue to learn more on project management. I am glad I got to expand my mind and learn all
that goes into managing a project and all the very specific details one must go through. A few
things that will stick in my head and I believe to be extremely important for project
management to be as effective as possible are:

1. Communication, if something is unclear, questions need to be asked, you cannot be afraid to

speak up, assumptions can extremely disrupt the project

2. Risk management team and a crisis plan, from everything we have done this term, every case
study either needed a risk management team or a crisis plan, they were not prepared. You must
be prepared for the inevitable.

3. Delegate tasks, everyone should know their role in the project and specifically what is asked
of them, and the project manager should be able to communicate with everyone easily and
people should be able to approach the PM with questions

4. Procrastination, this is anyone's worst enemy, plan early and plan often

Before this class I thought procrastination to not be too big of a deal, but now i realize how
detrimental it is, especially when it comes to group work. You must communicate early on
because you never know where your group could be in the world, what time zone they are in.
This has opened my eyes drastically and I understand the importance of team and working
together and communication.
