THERE IS – THERE ARE

HAY THERE IS = singular form

THERE ARE = plural form

EXAMPLES.

1. There is a book on the table


2. There is an apartment on the corner
3. There is a tree next to the house

4 . There are 6 boxes on the floor

5.There are 7 colors in the rainbow

6.There are 4 chairs in my room

(we use in this topic , PRE-ARTICLES , for non indicate quatities)

- Some = algo, algunos, algún (affirmative)


- Any = algo, algunos, algún (negative and interrogative)
- Several = varios
- Many = muchos
- plenty of = bastante
- a lot of = demasiado
- lots of = muchisimos

EXAMPLES:

1. How many universities are there in Abancay?

There are 2 universities

2. How many churches are there in this city?


There are several churches in this city

3. How many students are there in UTEA’s university?


There are plenty of students
4. How many presidents are there in Peru?
There is a president

5. There are ten chairs in the living room


6. There is a tv in the kitchen
7. There are 12 eggs in the refrigerator
