THE DEVELOPMENT OF ANDROID-BASED INTERACTIVE LEARNING MULTIMEDIA APPLICATIONS IN

KINGDOM ANIMALIA TOPIC FOR SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL-FIRST YEAR

Interactive multimedia is one kind of multimedia where users can decide their purpose for the next
process. Conducted Interviews with four senior high school-first year Biology teachers showed that
interactive learning multimedia is considered to be the appropriate learning method especially for wide-
scoped topic such as Animal Kingdom topic. The lack of opportunities and skills possessed by teachers
caused poor learning media development in a school, especially in IT based learning media. The aim of
this research is to develop Android-based interactive multimedia teaching module for Kingdom Animalia
topic for senior high school first year students.

This research uses the R&D method developed by Sugiyono (2019) by adapting 5 of the 10 research
steps, which are: 1) Problems and Potential, 2) Data Collection, 3) Product Design, 4) Design Validation,
5) Design Revision. The Research data are obtained through interviews and product validation.

The results of this research are initial products and final products that have gone through a validation
process. The initial product includes Basic Competencies and Indicators, Learning Objectives, Kingdom
Animalia topic which contains eight phyla, Evaluation that consist of LKPD and Evaluation Questions, and
the Crossword Game. The final product has addition of sound and text modules. Further than that, the
final product is also includes navigation improvements. The validation results show that the developed
product is feasible with an average score of 3.47. The conclusion is, the interactive learning multimedia
products are feasible to be implemented or tested with improvements based on validators suggestions.
