Dear Admissions Committee,

My name is An Khue Tang. I am honored and excited to provide this statement of support
for To Hoang Minh Ngoc, who I recommend without reservation for your institution.

I have been a close friend of Ngoc’s for ten years. We have been classmates since we were in
primary school. Ngoc is my best friend, my big sister; she is my adviser in life’s most
difficult moments. In primary school, I was shy and timid. It was Ngoc who encouraged and
supported me so that I could become who I am. When I was the nervous new kid in class,
Ngoc did not hesitate to invite me to sit next to her at lunch, show me around the school, and
introduce me to the chess club. Her caring and compassion for others, combined with her
eagerness for making new friends, made me confident to become a part of the student
community.

In middle school, Ngoc was really interested in reading. She read a wide variety of books,
both in Vietnamese and English. My classmates and I called her “the philosopher”, and we
often consulted with her when we wanted to choose reading materials for our end-of-term
assignments and public speaking sessions. Ngoc admires female leaders such as Angela
Merkel and Theresa May, and she has read a lot of books about them. Those figures have
inspired her to become a leader in and out of the classroom. She was voted to be the monitor
of our class, and she devoted her time and efforts to help us raise our GPA by recommending
useful books and materials for reading. With her excellent English, she has never hesitated to
help those struggling with the subject, even after school or on summer holiday.

Outside of the classroom, Ngoc is a great playwright who has composed beautiful dramas and
organised performances for our school’s festivals. She is always responsible and careful with
every detail to make sure our performances achieve the highest results. I was really surprised
by her creativity as she turned Romeo and Juliet into a modern comedy using tons of
Vietnamese idioms. But her most remarkable strength is to encourage the most timid and
introverted students to take part in theatre.

Ngoc is the most talented, motivated, and caring friend that I know. She makes my world a
more colorful place. I believe that she will be a perfect addition to your school’s student
community.

If you need more information about Ngoc, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely yours,

An Khue Tang
