To whom it may concern:

I am writing to apply for the open English Language Arts teaching position at [school]. I am a
summa cum laude graduate of Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College at Arizona State University. I
graduated in Spring 2022 with a BAE in Secondary Education – English. I am also a certified
teacher in the state of Arizona.
Since a young age, I have loved reading and writing. I am passionate about my content area and
sharing my passion with my students. I learned about pedagogy and methodology during my
time at Arizona State University and I believe strongly in building a community in my
classroom, as well as differentiating instruction in order to help all of my students to be
successful.
I have interned at La Joya Community High School in the Tolleson Union High School District
and at Betty H. Fairfax High School in the Phoenix Union High School District. I have also
completed my residency at [school]. During my intern years, I created and taught a unit on The
Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien. I learned a lot from that experience and from the feedback of my
mentor teacher. I believe I am ready to begin my journey as a first-year teacher, but I know that I
still have a lot more to learn.
